As expected, Michael Jackson will celebrate the 25th anniversary of his iconic "Thriller" album with a new edition of the set, due Feb. 12 via Epic/Legacy Recordings. It will include remixes by Kanye West, Akon and will.i.am, plus rare and unreleased material from the time period.
West remixes "Billie Jean," while will.i.am has revamped "The Girl Is Mine" and "P.Y.T." The album also features a new version of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" with both Akon and will.i.am.
Among the unreleased tracks is "For All Time," which was recording during "Thriller" but left on the cutting room floor. Jackson has personally mixed and mastered the song. Also featured is Jackson's original "Billie Jean" demo and the rarities "Someone in the Dark" and "Carousel."
"Thriller" will include a bonus DVD with the "Thriller," "Beat It" and "Billie Jean" videos, plus Jackson's performance of the latter cut during the 1983 NBC special "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever."
Jackson has been working on and off on his first studio album since 2001, but the status of the project is unknown. There have also been whispers of a tour with his brothers in 2008.
Here is the track list for "Thriller - 25th Anniversary Edition":

Mannie Fresh's Sister Killed at her House

A 42-year-old mother of two young children was shot and killed late Wednesday night in her Algiers home while her kids were there.
Angela Bryant, who is the sister of local rap artist Mannie Fresh, was found in her home in the 1000 block of Farragut Street early Thursday morning.
The children were not physically harmed, according to police.
Police said Bryant’s husband was out of town when she was killed, but he arrived at the scene before noon and was visibly upset.
“We’re still working on a motive and we have some limited information at this time,” said Police Chief Warren Riley.
Bryant’s 1998 Black Lexus LS 400 with the license plate PTF 205 was missing from the home and police are searching for the vehicle.
Carrie St. Cyr, the mother of the victim, told Eyewitness News Reporter Jill Hezeau that Bryant just got married in October. She said Wednesday was her birthday and the family had gone out to dinner to celebrate.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111. Callers do not have to leave a name and could be eligible for a reward.

Flo-Rida Stil @ Number 1 on the Download Charts

Poe Boy Entertainment/Atlantic recording artist Flo Rida has scored big again this week at iTunes. The Florida-based rapper debuted at #1 three weeks ago with his single, "Low (Feat. T-Pain)," selling over 120,000 digital downloads in just its first week available. "Low" has remained the #1 single at iTunes now for three consecutive weeks. The track has soared into the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as well, landing at #4, and comes in at #2 on the SoundScan Digital Song chart for its second week in a row. Flo Rida also leaps into the top 5 on the Billboard "Hot RingMasters" chart, with the ringtone for "Low" ranking at #3 this week.
Flo Rida is quickly marking himself as one of the hottest new voices in hip-hop. The Carol City, FL native has announced plans to release his major label debut album, "MAIL ON SUNDAY," in February of 2008. The album sees Flo Rida joined not only by T-Pain but other major-league guests including Rick Ross and Trey Songz, with production from an incredible line-up including The Runners, JR Rotem, and Atlanta's DJ Montay, who produced "Low."
At Rhythmic radio, "Low" is currently locked inside the Top 5 and was the #1 greatest gainer for the third consecutive week. Its one-week increase was up 806 spins, one of the largest spin gains of 2007. At Top 40 radio, "Low" has had yet another mammoth week, jumping to #23 with a bullet. The track is currently in full-time rotation at both Pop and Rhythmic formats in every major market in the country, and countless stations are reporting that "Low" is their #1 most-requested song.
The new companion video for "Low" is blowing up at MTV, where it has already been added to rotation at MTV, MTV2, MTV Hits, and MTV Jams, as well as at BET. Last week, MTV's "TRL" and BET's "106 & Park" premiered the video, in addition to other recent premieres on MTV2's "Sucker Free" and BET's "Rap City."
On MySpace, Flo Rida comes in at #3 on the Top Indie Artists ranking and at YouTube, his channel has received more than one million views to date.
In other news, "Low" will be prominently featured in the upcoming motion picture "Step Up 2 The Streets," which hits theatres February 14th, as well as in its accompanying soundtrack, which will also be released by Atlantic Records.
Flo Rida can currently be heard on Poe Boy labelmate Rick Ross' new single, "Street Money." Both rappers just shot the song's music video in Miami. Flo Rida was also recently featured on fellow-Floridian DJ Khaled's current album, "We The Best," on the track "B***h I'm From Dade County." In addition, Flo Rida's "Radio" will appear on EA Game's NFL Tour 2008, which hits stores in January.

Akon Heading To Court

Akon! WTF? There's no need to throw a kid off the stage! Cops apparently agree and have now charged the R & B singer with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment.
The charges stem from an incident last June in upstate NY when he was performing at a concert and someone in the crowd allegedly threw something at the singer on stage. Akon asked the crowd to point out the culprit. A security guard picked a 15-year-old out from the crowd and sent him up to the stage, where Akon hoisted him onto his shoulders and flung him into the crowd. Smack that! The kid landed on another teen who told the local paper she was later diagnosed with a concussion.
Akon is scheduled to appear in a local court on Monday for arraignment. Locked up!

What's Your Order?
Choices: Scarface, Cass, Beanie, Ghost, Styles, Freeway, Wu Tang, Hi Tek
Scarface > Styles Album > Ghost Album > Beanie Sigel Album > Hi Tek > Wu Tang Album > Freeway Album > Cassidy Album
I actually liked every single album...no trashy throwaway garbage for the most part. Just personal preference of their latest albums.

Entertaining Ghostface Intv.

A decade ago, the Wu-Tang Clan and Ghostface dropping new music within a week of each other would have been cause for a national hip-hop holiday. Unfortunately, in 2007, it only heightens the tension within the Wu camp, regarding everything from compensation to the musical direction of the group’s upcoming album, 8 Diagrams. Rhapsody had a chance to sit down with Pretty Toney while he was promoting his seventh album, Big Doe Rehab. We got his thoughts on the inspiration for his ghetto stories, on G-Unit's Tony Yayo’s claims that Ghost may not be the author of Supreme Clientele, and on where things currently stand with the RZA and the Wu.
RHAPSODY: When you’re telling stories like “Maxine” or “Alex (Stolen Scripts),” are they inspired by real-life experiences?
Ghostface: When I hear a certain type of music, it brings certain things out. I’m an artist. I’m a real poet. Whatever the beat makes me see, I’ll go write. It might sound like a murder. It might sound like a real snowy day, or kids having fun in the snow. It might sound like “The Sun.” “Maxine” was a true story. It was based upon what happened with fiends in the projects. Crackheads is funny. They be doin’ all types of dumb s**t. You gotta watch ‘em. They sneak things from you.
What’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever seen a crackhead do?
Just anything. These m*th*rf*ck*rs dance for crack. Some of them do anything you tell ‘em to do. M*th*rf*ck*rs spin on their head on concrete for a f*ck*n’ rock.
So when you’re constructing a story like “Maxine,” how long does it take to write?
Sometimes it takes a long time. It depends on how much you keep going back to it. I might write a page and then don’t go back to it for like two weeks or three weeks. It just depends on what comes that day.
What was it like collaborating with Mobb Deep on classics like “Right Back at You”?
That was early days. I don’t remember none of that sh*t. We were just in the studio. I think they had that sh*t already done and we just came and tagged on it. I wasn’t there when [Big] Noyd finished it off. Also, somebody else was on it from Staten Island. N*gg*s cut ‘em off, and put me and Rae [Raekwon] on. It was my man. I don’t want to put him out there or blow him

I haven't heard Hi Tek's album, but I'll have to say..
Styles P > GFK > Scarface > Wu > Beans > Free > Cass
Got damn JD too much good music comin at me, im back trackin i haven't even had time to listen to Ghost album. this a crazy 4th quarter. If Nas came out tho i'd drop everything and ride with that for a grip.
Is the Hi-tek album decent ? I got that Talib track, its pretty old how's the album as a whole tho ?
ghost> styles> freeway> hi tek> beans> wutang> scarface> cassidy
Cassidy was garbage. Beans was a HUGE disappointment even though it was pretty good. Just expected great material from him like before. Freeway is a very good album once you listen to it a couple times.

I'm same as pat ewing said. That makes me think of the Nature line. But I digress. Here goes:
FACEMOB, Beans, Styles, Ghostface, Freeway, Wu-Tang, Cassidy (big disappointment w/ all the shit he was talking). I'm sure Hi-Tek is gonna be over the Wu and Cassidy. His last joint was str8, and the DVD had some kick-ass producing techniques (hell yeah I copped, I've copped everything I dl off of here, except the Cassidy). Of course Jigga is still my fav album this year, but Radiohead's new one is right behind him in my opinion though.
-Nas is a fool for that interview. I gotta admit that I'm glad he didn't force this album out. This just may be a classic album y'all. The last one that came close to a classic was The Lost Tapes (Stillmatic had too much filler).
-J.R. Rotem is a fool. He just got himself a big 'ole dose of baby mama drama. Not to mention rich, psycho, crazy pussy (maybe the best kind, lol). I hope he doesn't feel obligated to marry her now. That happens too much nowadays. A mistake is a mistake.
new ghost link was posted in a few posts down
I really liked Freeway album, I honestly don't think that it should be toward the end of the list..maybe middle give or take, but I thought that all the albums were hott but Free had came wit some heat for it to be his second album and be right back into the swing of things even though he had been away for so long.
bleek always has and always will be trash. not a real roc fan either.
thanx 4 the ROC. could u upload Caltroit mixtape by Bishop Lamont... thanx
Haven heard ghost yet, but I think Free's album is better than Face & Beans. The Solution was really dissappointng
Haven't listened to the Hi-Tek album yet but for the rest:
Scarface > Styles P > Freeway > Beanie > Ghostface > Cassidy > Wu-Tang
If I'm honest, the Wu album disappointed me...and actually the Scarface/Styles/Free albums are probably joint first, can't decide which is best yet.
that Roc Boys mixtape ain't what i expected i thought it was gunna be new tracks, oh well
i got a request: 9MM by david banner, akon, snoop dogg and lil wayne
and some comments: that was fucked up what happened to fresh's sister. i'm sick of 50. i guess micheal jackson has to get just a lil bit of cash after fighting all of those child molestion cases. oh, and bleek sucks. too short got another album? damn, dude WON'T go away
word to tru for checkin that radiohead album, that shit is amazing. i'd also like to remind everybody to take into account what ghost said about the new wu album in that interview where he stomped out yayo - apparently rza is changing up beats and doing some last minute editing, so i wouldnt judge it just yet.
im gonna say...
FREE > GFK > STYLES > TEK > WU > BEANS > CASS
havent listened to scar enough yet.. i like to let his albums sink in.
cass was fucking garbage... i couldn't believe that after some of his mixtape shit this year. huge loss.
im hoping styles cakes off his new one... he deserves it, that first ALC joint is BANANAS.
moresick you didnt like beans? damn i thought it was great
what dont you like about it?
